The Smart Trailer USA was originally designed exclusively for the smart fortwo from Mercedes Benz, the only such trailer manufactured in the United States.  Motorhome owners all over the US are towing their smart fortwo on this trailer.  We now offer larger trailers for other small cars, all under Model STXL.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Please do not ask us to deliver your Smart Trailer USA just a few days before you plan to go on a trip.  This is a BIG mistake because the delivery might be delayed by weather, detours, etc., and you won't get to leave on time, or the trailer gets delivered to an empty house.  Also, we have found that about 2 in 5 RV's either have the wrong connector, or the wiring is incorrect.  Not something you want to find out the day before your planned departure.  Give us time to do the job right. 

If you plan on picking up your new Smart Trailer USA at our Gainesville, FL facility, you must use the following address as the "Ship To" address:

Sales Tax: 

• Sales tax is not collected on trailers shipped outside of Florida.  


• If you take delivery in Florida, the Florida state sales tax is collected.  For non-Florida residents, most states will allow a credit for the tax when licensing the trailer in your home state.   
  
  
  • Currently, the states of Arkansas, Mississippi, and West Virginia impose a sales tax on motor vehicles, but they do not allow a credit for taxes paid to Florida. Residents of these states must pay Florida sales tax when they purchase a trailer and accept delivery in Florida, and will also be required to pay a tax when the trailer is licensed in their home state.
